Pivot Table Gadget
Row & Column Fields
The Pivot Table is built by placing Jira fields on rows and columns. Each unique combination of field values becomes a row or column in the grid.
How Fields Work
- Row Fields → each unique value (or combination of values) becomes a table row
- Column Fields → each unique value (or combination of values) becomes a table column
- The cell at the intersection shows the aggregated value for issues matching both the row and column
Multi-Level Grouping
You can add up to 3 fields per axis to create nested grouping.
Example - 2 Row Fields:
- Row Field 1: Sprint
- Row Field 2: Issue Type
- Result: Each sprint expands into Story/Bug/Task sub-rows
Example - 2 Column Fields:
- Column Field 1: Status
- Column Field 2: Priority
- Result: Each status expands into High/Medium/Low sub-columns
Adding Fields
- Open the Pivot Table gadget in edit mode
- In the Output Configuration tab, click + Add Row Field or + Add Column Field
- Search for and select a Jira field
- Repeat to add up to 3 fields per axis
Ordering Fields
Drag fields up or down in the list to control grouping order:
- The first field in the list is the outermost grouping (main rows/columns)
- The second field creates sub-groups within the first
- The third field creates sub-groups within the second
